Google Sheets as Your Content Calendar

Write posts, pick platforms, and set a publish time — all in a spreadsheet you already know. No new tools to learn.

Platform-Specific Copy Per Post

Each row has separate columns for LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook copy. One sheet, three tailored messages per post.

Publishes Every 30 Minutes

The automation checks for due posts every 30 minutes and fires them on schedule. Change to 15 minutes for tighter precision.

Confirmation Email After Every Post

You get an email notification every time a post goes out — so you always know what was published and when, without logging in.

Status Tracking in Sheet

After posting, each row updates to Status = Posted with a timestamp. No guessing what has gone out and what is still queued.

Works with n8n and Make.com

Both platforms are fully covered. Use whichever you prefer — no subscription fees on the free tier.

How It Works

1

Add posts to your content calendar sheet

Fill in your post text, pick the platforms (linkedin, twitter, facebook), and set a Scheduled Time. Set Status to Scheduled.

2

Automation checks for due posts every 30 minutes

The workflow scans the sheet for rows with Scheduled Time within the next 30-minute window and Status = Scheduled.

3

Posts to each selected platform via API

For each due post, the automation calls the LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and Facebook APIs — using the platform-specific copy if provided, or the default caption if not.

4

Row updated and confirmation sent

The sheet row changes to Status = Posted with a Posted At timestamp. You receive a confirmation email listing which platforms received the post.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the social media scheduler work?

The automation runs every 30 minutes and checks your Google Sheets content calendar for rows with Status = Scheduled and a Scheduled Time within the next 30 minutes. It posts to whichever platforms are listed, then marks the row Posted and sends a confirmation email.

Do I need developer accounts for each platform?

Yes — each platform requires a free developer account. LinkedIn requires a Developer App with Share on LinkedIn access. Twitter/X requires a Basic developer account (free). Facebook requires a Developer App with Pages API access. The setup guide walks through each one step-by-step.

Can I write different copy for each platform?

Yes — the sheet has separate columns for LinkedIn Copy, Twitter Copy, and Facebook Copy. Leave a column blank to use the default Caption. This lets you write platform-optimised content for each channel from the same row.

Does it support images?

The base template posts text content. To add images, you can extend the HTTP Request nodes with media upload endpoints for each platform. The setup guide includes notes on how to add this.

What happens if a post fails?

If an API call fails (e.g. an expired token), n8n logs the error in the execution history. The row remains Scheduled so it retries on the next run. The setup guide explains how to add error notification handling.

How often does it check for posts to publish?

Every 30 minutes by default. You can change the schedule trigger interval to 15 or 10 minutes for tighter precision — just edit the Schedule Trigger node.
